- Light lunch will be provided. Registration required.
Please join the Center for the Study of Race, Ethnicity & Equity (CRE2) and the Office of Public Scholarship for a workshop that will introduce faculty to the practice of public scholarship.
This session is designed to help WashU faculty, postdocs, and research staff familiarize themselves with public scholarship, why it matters, and how to navigate its opportunities and risks. Public scholarship creates opportunities to connect academic research with broader communities, fostering dialogue and impact beyond the university.
This workshop will cover the following:
- Resources and support available through the Office of Public Scholarship
- What public scholarship is and its value for scholars and communities
- Considerations around risks and responsibilities in public-facing work
- Opportunities for sharing research through platforms like The Conversation and other high-impact venues
