In this workshop you will be guided through an exercise in which you focus on a single environmental object and then write a very short essay about your topic.

Director of Public Scholarship Christopher Schaberg will offer tips, formal strategies, and prompts for how to write concise prose about your research for general audiences.

  • This workshop is designed for Graduate students.
  • Registration is required.

The workshop is part of the 2026 Environmental Research & Creativity Week Feb. 23-27, a series of events hosted by the WashU Center for the Environment and its partners to showcase the interdisciplinary environmental work at the university.
