This session is designed to help WashU graduate students familiarize themselves with public scholarship, why it matters, and how to navigate its opportunities and risks. Public scholarship creates opportunities to connect academic research with broader communities, fostering dialogue and impact beyond the university.

Exploring public scholarship is presented in partnership with The Graduate Center and the Office of Public Scholarship.

This workshop will cover the following:

  • Resources and support available through the Office of Public Scholarship
  • What public scholarship is and its value for scholars and communities
  • Considerations around risks and responsibilities in public-facing work
  • Potential outlets for publishing your work

Food and refreshments will be provided while supplies last.

Registration for this programming is required.
